How Credit Card Refunds Work?
It typically takes about 7 days for a credit card refund to be processed. However, credit card refund times vary, with some retailers issuing a refund the same day if you return in person, while others may take a few weeks or even months to issue the amount back to your account. The time it takes to receive a credit card refund also depends on a few other factors, such as the retailer, the method you used to return the item (online, in-person, etc.), and your credit card issuer’s policies.
How Debt Card Refunds Work?
When a debit card is used for a purchase, the money is sent to the merchant's financial institution. A refund request from a merchant is actually a refund request from the merchant's financial institution. That institution has up to 10 days to process a refund request, so it may be close to two weeks before the money appears back in a consumer's bank account. Because each merchant is different, a consumer may receive a refund on a debit card purchase within just a few days, or it may take longer than a week. When requesting a refund from an online merchant, processing a return can add additional time to the refund request.
Our Goal:
We want to assure that the refund is processed in our system but when it will be credited is not in our control and it's between banks from that point on.
